Racehorse Owners - No. 3 of a series (part 1) History Local folklore has it that it was the parish priest who, in 1876, organised the first race meeting on Laytown's three miles of golden strand. Held intermittently since then, it was not until 1901 that local landowner, Paddy Delancy, established the meeting as we know it today. Nothing, not even two World Wars , has stopped it taking place since then. Java Lady (Mt Livermore/Virgin Hawk, by Silver Hawk - for full pedigree click here) owned by Matt Duffy and his daughter Elizabeth, trained by Michael Grassick, and ridden by AJ Heffernan, was winner of the 7 furlong Maiden on June 10th 2003.
The winner was purchased at Goff's November Sales 2002. She is in foal to Danetime. To view hypothetical mating click here
